Twitter reported Thursday afternoon on its blog that more than a million tweets were sent during Kentucky Republican Sen. Rand Paul’s near-13 hour filibuster on the Senate floor Wednesday, placing the conversation almost on par with the 1.36 million tweets sent about President Barack Obama’s most recent State of the Union address.
It has just been reported that Obamacare will not only raise premiums but specifically will raise health premiums of Young Americans up to 203%
Would you be able to afford that? How about your college friends, Med school students? Law students? Newlyweds? first time home owners? Anybody that falls into that Young American demographic? I sure as heck could not.

Who knew we actually had a piece of legislation called the Bill of Rights…?????….

AEI President Arthur Brooks in today’s Wall Street Journal: “There is only one statistic needed to explain the outcome of the 2012 presidential election. Only 33% of Americans said Romney “cares about people like me.” Only 38% said he cared about the poor.
Perception is political reality, and over the decades many Americans have become convinced that conservatives care only about the rich and powerful.
“Citizens across the political spectrum place a great importance on taking care of those in need and avoiding harm to the weak.
Conservatives are fighting a losing battle of moral arithmetic. They hand an argument with virtually 100% public support—care for the vulnerable—to progressives, and focus instead on materialistic concerns and minority moral viewpoints.
I was! I also live in Marietta:D This is awesome, Thank you!
Today in 1913, more than 5,000 suffragists marched down Pennsylvania Avenue in support of the right to vote. Their consistent champion was the Republican Party.
The GOP pioneered the right of women to vote throughout the long campaign for acceptance. It was the first major party to advocate equal rights for women and the principle of equal pay for equal work.
In 1872, the Republican National Convention approved a resolution favoring women’s rights and 1892 they were the first admit women as delegates. Republicans were the first to have a woman address their convention. At the request of Susan B. Anthony, Sen. A.A. Sargent (R-CA) introduced the 19th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution in 1878.
It was defeated four times by a Democrat-controlled Senate. When the Republican Party gained control of Congress in 1919, the Equal Suffrage Amendment finally passed the House in May of that year. After 30 years of effort it passed the Senate on June 4, 1919 by a vote 56 to 25, with two more votes that the necessary two-thirds.
Senate Republicans voted 36 to 8 in favor of the 19th amendment while Democrats approved it by a narrow 20 to 17 margin.
When the Amendment was submitted to the states, 26 of the 36 states that ratified it had Republican legislatures. Of the nine states that voted against ratification, eight were Democratic. Twelve states, all Republican, had given women full suffrage before the federal amendment was ratified.
On August 18, 1920, Tennessee became the 36th and final state needed to ratify the amendment. Women were able to vote in the 1920 presidential election.
- I believe human beings have a right to live – because of who they are – not because of what they do – as productive members of society. I do not judge the worth of a person by their usefulness to society.
“Out of all the footsteps that are imprinted on our hearts each moment of our lives, there are very tiny footprints that we may never notice. If we give the unborn of this world a chance at life, then we may witness a new revolution: the pro-life transformation. It is then that we may see a new dawn, as the life-giving Sun shines on a new world and a new generation.”
DID YOU KNOW?
There are about 3,325 abortions performed each day
Girls from ages 15-24 have about 50% of all abortions nationwide
The babies heart starts beating four weeks after conception, about twelve days after your first missed period. (About the time people start figuring out they’re pregnant.)
While blacks and Hispanics comprise only 28% of the population, they account for nearly 60% of all abortions.
A black woman is three times as likely as a white woman to have an abortion during her lifetime; a Hispanic woman is 2.5 times more likely to abort
Research indicates that 98% of all abortions are related to issues of “personal choice.”
84.3% of all abortions were performed on unmarried women
About 25% of all pregnancies end in an abortion
……Are you willing to loose you voice for a day to help those who may never have a voice?

Sometimes it’s easy to become complacent and to take things for granted..
